Manchester United withdraw interest from Bologna striker Marko Arnautovic after backlash
Manchester United have withdrawn their interest and will not be signing Marko Arnautovic this summer after receiving backlash, according to the Manchester Evening News. The Austrian had been linked with a move to Old Trafford.
It seems the Red Devils have stopped in their pursuit of the 33-year-old centre-forward. United already had their bid rejected. The club was also ridiculed online for supposedly wanting Arnautovic.
The Red Devils saw the former West Ham United and Stoke City striker as an ideal short-term solution. His strong character was also a factor for the Manchester-based club.

The fallout of a possible deal with Bologna for the Austria international was an important factor in United pulling the plug. Now, the Old Trafford side needs to look at other options.
United’s attack needs reinforcements. To bolster our attack, Arnautovic was considered. But the Austrian doesn’t have the numbers that would get fans excited. Age is also one of the reasons supporters don’t want the centre-forward.
Previously, United have signed similar sorts of players who were meant to fill a gap. But it feels like a yearly occurrence now. From Radamel Falcao to Edinson Cavani, the club has made temporary signings.

Fans want the club to go after a quality attacker capable of scoring and creating chances. United have a lot of experience within the squad. Although Arnautovic was decent last season in Italy, he isn’t a solution to our attacking woes.
United are also blessed with promising youngsters in the squad. Alejandro Garnacho and Anthony Elanga are excellent prospects for the future. The side now needs competition for places to spur up players like Marcus Rashfor and Jadon Sancho.
