Bologna reject bid of around £7 million from Manchester United for Marko Arnautovic
Manchester United have had a bid in the region of £7 million rejected by Bologna for Austrian centre-forward Marko Arnautovic, according to Melissa Reddy on Twitter.
The former West Ham United striker has emerged as a surprise target for the Red Devils this transfer window. But it seems the Serie A club are holding out for more. So it remains to be seen whether United will get their man.
Arnautovic has had a decent spell back in European football for Bologna after his stint in China. For the Rossoblu, the 33-year-old had 14 goals in the league in 33 appearances in the previous campaign. It’s a decent return for a player of the Austrian’s stature.
Arnautovic has always been a player with an eye for a goal. While he isn’t prolific, the 33-year-old has shown he can get on the scoresheet consistently.
In the Austrian’s two seasons at West Ham between 2017 and 2019, he was one of the names on West Ham’s top goalscoring charts. The now Bologna centre-forward also played for Stoke in the Premier League.
United lost the opening game of the league campaign to Brighton & Hove Albion. We started with Christian Eriksen in the centre-forward position. Anthony Martial was out due to an injury.

Cristiano Ronaldo has missed most of the pre-season under Erik ten Hag. His only friendly game came against Rayo Vallecano at Old Trafford. The Portuguese didn’t look match fit when he appeared against the Spanish opposition,
The 37-year-old striker started on the bench for the Red Devils. Ronaldo came on early in the second half. But United were unable to claw back after being two goals behind in the first half.
