Manchester United have enquired about 18-year-old Bristol City midfielder Alex Scott
According to The United Stand (h/t Mirror), Manchester United have made an enquiry about the signing of Bristol City youngster Alex Scott.
The Red Devils are seemingly interested in the 18-year-old, who impressed in the Championship last season. United are interested in the England U19 international.
The Robins see him as one of the biggest young stars in English football. Keeping that in mind, the Robins are looking to supposedly get £10 million for Scott. And Bristol would be open to selling the 18-year-old as they need the money.
Scott made his debut for the Robins last season. For Nigel Pearson’s side in the Championship, the 18-year-old played a pivotal role. The youngster featured in 38 games in England’s second tier in the previous campaign, scoring four goals and assisting two.
The midfielder has played in various positions on the pitch for Bristol. Last season, Scott primarily played on the right-hand side of midfield. Pearson has also deployed the 19-year-old as a number six, number eight and number 10.
Scott started the opening game of the new Championship season. Bristol visited the MKM Stadium and lost 2-1. The 18-year-old played 60 minutes in the loss against Hull City.
United currently have a lot of young talent on their books. Pre-season has put light on some of our academy’s stars. Zidane Iqbal and Charlie Savage have turned heads with their displays on the pitch.
Erik ten Hag has other prospects at his disposal in Manchester as well. It remains to be seen what the future holds for some of the youngsters.
