Benjamin Sesko a bigger transfer priority than Sasa Kalajdzic for Manchester United
Benjamin Sesko is higher on the transfer wishlist for Manchester United than Sasa Kalajdzic, according to Fabrizio Romano on CaughtOffside via UtdPlug on Twitter (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The 19-year-old Slovenian seems to be the preferred target for the Red Devils. But, on the other hand, the VfB Stuttgart centre-forward is also an option for United.
Sesko is still young. The RB Salzburg attacker showed promise last season. In 36 appearances for the Austrian Bundesliga champions, the 19-year-old scored 10 goals and set up seven more in all competitions in the previous campaign.
Kalajdzic, on the other hand, is an experienced striker with German top-flight games under his belt. In the 2020/21 campaign, the 25-year-old featured in 36 games in all competitions for Stuttgart, scoring 17 times.
They both have their pros and cons as far as a transfer to Manchester is concerned. Sesko is still young and hasn’t proven himself at the highest stage of European football. But while Kalajdzic boasts pedigree in a top league, the Austrian has been injury prone throughout his career.
For United, currently, the attack is an area of concern. In the previous campaign, our forwards failed to make an impact. Apart from Cristiano Ronaldo, none of the other supporting cast lived up to expectations.
Jadon Sancho was one of the marquee signings last summer. With the other additions we had made, fans were expecting a challenge for the Premier League title from the Red Devils last season.
But the former Borussia Dortmund star failed to settle in and didn’t contribute as much to our attack in the previous campaign. Marcus Rashford also had a substandard season considering his quality.
