Manchester United set to hold meeting to decide the future of Alejandro Garnacho at the club

Manchester United are set to hold a meeting with the agent of Alejandro Garnacho to decide the 18-year-old’s future at the club, according to Fabrizio Romano on CaughtOffside (h/t Express).

After an impressive outing against Rayo Vallecano, the club are looking to discuss what’s best for the Argentinian’s future, whether he stays or leaves on loan. The Red Devils also want to offer Garnacho a new contract to beat back interest from other clubs.

The 18-year-old played over 70 minutes against the Spanish opposition and was excellent. Cristiano Ronaldo returned to the side in the friendly, but his future is still uncertain. And United will decide on what to do with the Argentine youngster after resolving the issue with the Portuguese.

Garnacho made his debut for the Red Devils at the end of last season against Chelsea. The 118-year-old also featured in the final game of the campaign against Crystal Palace.

Before his first appearance for the senior side, plenty of fans already knew the Argentine’s name due to his showings with the youth sides. His heroics in the U18 team’s FA Youth Cup triumph last season turned many heads.

We have plenty of youngsters that have broken through during pre-season. Zidane Iqbal and Charlie Savage are the academy starlets who’ve shown what they’re capable of.

United’s forward line was a bit underwhelming last season. Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Anthony Martial weren’t able to make the impact fans had envisioned.

The only player to fulfil expectations was Ronaldo. The 37-year-old ended the campaign as our highest goalscorer. But his future is uncertain now as he’s angling for a move away from Manchester.

Keeping all these things in mind, Garnacho needs to be kept in the squad going into next season. Then, hopefully, the Argentine can step up and showcase his talent on the highest level.
