Manchester United are keen to replace Cristiano Ronaldo with Neymar

According to The Mirror (h/t Manchester Evening News), Manchester United are eyeing a move for Neymar if Cristiano Ronaldo were to leave the club this summer.

It’s vaguely suggested that the Brazilian would be considered in case the legendary number seven departs Old Trafford before deadline day. His potential departure will leave a huge void in our attack.

Neymar is one of the world’s biggest superstars and it would make sense as a replacement for another superstar. Apart from goals, Ronaldo brings eyeballs to the club. The Brazilian has a similar following in world football.

Neymar is considered one of the best players in the world for his flair and dribbling abilities. The 30-year-old has the ability to run past any defence and score goals.

The Brazilian style of football is known around the world for being audacious. And Neymar has plenty of that in his locker. He still has several years to go at the top and could potentially set the field alight at the Theatre of Dreams.

For United though, fans would prefer the club to go after a player committed to the Red Devils. Since leaving Barcelona, people have felt Neymar has lost his drive. Spectators feel the 30-year-old isn’t the same player he used to be.

Neymar has plenty of individual flair and skill, but fans would rather have a forward in Manchester who helps the team out in all areas of the pitch and puts in a shift.

The Brazilian has been injury prone as well in his time with Paris Saint-Germain. The supporters of the French club believe they haven’t got their money’s worth when it comes to collective trophies.

Ronaldo is a proven goalscorer who proved himself once again last season as he rejoined United. The Portuguese guarantees goals. The 37-year-old led the line last season when other attackers failed to make an impact. Losing the number seven would be a big blow for the side.
