Cristiano Ronaldo is back in Manchester for crunch future talks

According to @David_Ornstein (via Fabrizio Romano), Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is back at Manchester uNITED for crunch talks with the club regarding his future.

Ronaldo’s future has been up for debate for quite some time now with it emerging that the 37-year-old is wanting out from Old Trafford just a season after joining them from Juventus. Manchester United are adamant that the striker is not for sale.

The return of the prodigal son was expected to be the signing to take Man United back to the top of English football after finishing second in the Premier League the previous season. However, the Red Devils, if anything, have regressed.

Man United had a dismal season since Ronaldo joined, finishing sixth in the Premier League and barely qualifying for the Europa League. Ole Gunnar Soskjaer was sacked mid-season and Ralf Ragnick took over as the interim manager.

Now, the Red Devils are looking to rebuild and go back to where they belong and they have entrusted Erik ten Hag as the man to do the job. The Dutch tactician has already made changes upon arrival at Old Trafford.

If the pre-season performances are anything to go by, ten Hag and Man United are building something very special this season. One person who was missing from the tour to Thailand was none other than Cristiano Ronaldo.

The former Real Madrid star cited family reasons to skip the pre-season tour with Man United and ever since, the rumour mill has been in full flow linking him with an exit immediately. It does seem like the 37-year-old wants to go to a club that can give him Champions League football.

Now that he is back in Manchester, the two parties can meet and discuss what would be the ideal solution for all parties involved. Erik ten Hag is supposedly keen on keeping the striker and he has a job in his hands to convince Ronaldo.

The Man United project under Erik ten Hag is well and truly underway. The only thing left to know is whether or not Cristiano Ronaldo will be a part of it. The sooner we get to know, the better it is for both parties.
