Agent of Ajax forward Antony in the United Kingdom for Manchester United negotiations
According to the Mirror, Manchester United seem to have been progressing in their negotiations for Ajax forward Antony as the 22-year-old’s agent has travelled to the United Kingdom.
The Brazilian has been linked with the Red Devils for the duration of the transfer window. Erik ten Hag supposedly wants to reunite with the Brazilian at Old Trafford.
United had previously bid £51 million for the player, but Ajax are looking at a figure of around £68 million for their 22-year-old superstar. It remains to be seen whether the Red Devils match the valuation.
United need a forward
We are going into next season with an inconsistent and volatile frontline as things stand. Apart from Cristiano Ronaldo, none of our attackers stepped up to the mark in the previous campaign.
The Portuguese was our top goalscorer and also one of the best players in the side. By the end of last season, the 37-year-old also started dropping a bit deeper to help the side during build-up play. Now there’s talk of him wanting to leave this summer.
A player we relied on for goals and assists, Bruno Fernandes, was severely disappointing. After an incredible 18 months at the club, his form dipped and the 27-year-old wasn’t his usual self.
Marcus Rashford had his worst season in a Red shirt. The England international was anonymous whenever he featured. Fans hope the 24-year-old finds his best version once again.
Jadon Sancho and Anthony Elanga were decent. The wingers provided much-needed creativity and flair on occasions. But the former Borussia Dortmund winger wasn’t consistent enough and 20-year-old Elanga lacks experience.
