Transfer News: Manchester United take important step to sign Paulo Dybala

According to Il Mattino via Sport Witness (h/t Manchester Evening News), Manchester United have taken an important step in signing talented out-of-contract forward Paulo Dybala and have contacted the Argentinian’s agents regarding the same.

Dybala to Manchester United is a story that has been picking up speed in recent weeks. The Juventus man is extremely talented but now finds himself without a club after failing to renew a contract with the Serie A giants.

It seemed for a while that the Argentinian superstar would remain in Italy but it is now increasingly looking like England is set to be Dybala’s next destination. Manchester United is one of the clubs interested in the 28-year-old.

Dybala is an extremely versatile player. He can play as a centre-forward, on either wing as an inside forward and even as an attacking midfielder. His playstyle will really suit Erik ten Hag’s system and he can occupy a variety of roles.

The Argentinian forward joined Juventus from Palermo in 2015. It was in Turin that the talented playmaker established himself as a superstar and despite a couple of indifferent seasons in between, he still has had a pretty good career.

Seven seasons later, his story with the Old Lady has come to an end as he looks to embark on a new journey in what are likely the prime years of his career. Things have started taking an upturn for Dybala in recent months.

He had a season of renaissance this time around for Juventus, playing 39 games for the Serie A giants scoring 15 goals and providing six assists across all competitions. Dybala has also worked his way into the national team.

With a World Cup a few months down the line, Dybala will know that his next move will turn out to be crucial to how his chances in the coveted tournament pan out and hence he will have to make a decision that he feels is best for his career.
