Manchester United “working on” transfers for Ajax ace Antony and Villarreal star Arnaut Danjuma

According to the Spanish outlet Sport (h/t The Express), Manchester United are currently “working on” facilitating transfers for Ajax ace Antony and Villarreal star Arnaut Danjuma this summer. They are looking to complete moves for the attacking duo to please Cristiano Ronaldo, who is disillusioned with life at Old Trafford.

Ronaldo wants to leave Man United in this transfer window due to the club’s lack of ambition in the market. That has prompted them to ramp up their plans as they lot to prise away Antony and Danjuma ahead of the next season. They are looking to appease Cristiano by giving him assurances through these potential incomings.

The Red Devils would not have it easy, with West Ham United leading the race to sign Danjuma. In Antony’s case, they face a major roadblock in their pathway as the Dutch side have slapped a massive £70million valuation for the Brazilian’s signature.

Man Utd to fulfil their transfer plans?

It remains to be seen if the Manchester club can finalise moves for Antony and Danjuma to bolster their attacking options. However, it does make sense why they are targeting both of them, looking at the current set of choices Erik ten Hag has at hand for the upcoming campaign.

There is no ideal right-wing option in our ranks after Jadon Sancho was moved to the left-wing and Mason Greenwood was suspended indefinitely. Antony would undoubtedly be a great addition, but the 22-year-old’s current price tag should be enough to force us to look elsewhere to meet our needs.

Serge Gnabry is touted as a potential option as he could leave Bayern Munich in the summer transfer window. Arsenal have also been linked, which could be an issue for us. Perhaps, ten Hag could also explore the option of Sancho being utilised on the winger’s primary position on the right-wing as there are others who could play on the left-hand side.

As for Danjuma, his signing would be a no-brainer considering how Edinson Cavani has left the club. Ronaldo does not have any backup options as Marcus Rashford and Antony Martial are more suited to the left-hand side of the attacking front.

Danjuma, who was sensational in the previous season, would be a great option, but West Ham could pose trouble for us. Fortunately, Fabrizio Romano has revealed that they are no longer pursuing the 25-year-old due to disagreements on personal terms giving us a free run at the Dutch international.

Romano has also shut down Gnarby’s links to the Gunners, which gives us a further boost should we decide to go down that route. In any case, keeping hold of Ronaldo is quite important, so let’s hope to see some significant developments soon to help in that regard.
