Fulham confident of landing Manchester United star Andreas Pereira
According to 90min (h/t Manchester Evening News), Fulham are confident about completing a move to sign Manchester United star Andreas Pereira ahead of the next season. They are looking to add some personnel to their team to deal with the increased challenge of playing in the Premier League.
Marco Silva’s side have been promoted to the English top-flight after winning the Championship in the previous campaign. They have turned their gaze towards Manchester in an attempt to prise away Pereira in this summer transfer window. They are in line to engage in talks with him to reach an agreement over personal terms.
As such, the Cottagers are feeling optimistic about their chances of signing the Brazilian international this summer. They have already reached an agreement with Man United over the fee involved, which would have played a part in their confidence regarding this pursuit.
Pereira to join Fulham?
The 26-year-old has returned from his loan spell with Flamengo recently, where he was excellent for them during that period. He even capped off with a goal in his final game for them this Thursday, adding to the impressive performances he displayed donning their shirt the last season.
Apart from the high-profile mistake he committed in the Copa Libertadores final, the South American has enjoyed a great time with the Brazilian side. Perhaps that could explain why Fulham are keen to get their hands on the midfielder, having already agreed to a fee with us.
Surprisingly enough, Flamego have rekindled their interest in signing the Red Devils ace on a permanent transfer. They were unwilling to trigger the £8.5million buy option in the loan agreement but have now re-joined this pursuit. Hence, they could approach us to discuss his availability on a cut-price deal shortly.

Earlier, it was revealed that Silva’s club tabled an £11million offer for Pereira’s signature, which is more than the optional clause that Flamengo could have activated. If that is the case, we must simply turn down any advances from the South American outfit under the current circumstances.
Then again, we have to wait and see what Pereira thinks about this matter moving forward. After all, he seems intent on staying in Brazil, which could be an issue if he remains stubborn on his stance even if we have an agreement with Fulham. Whether that could be problematic for us or not remains to be seen in the future.
