Man United thinking about a £26m transfer approach for 26-year-old Dutch international

Transfer News: Manchester United consider making an offer for Inter Milan star Denzel Dumfries

According to the Italian source L’Interista (h/t The Mirror), Manchester United are currently considering proposing an offer for Inter Milan star Denzel Dumfries this summer. He would undoubtedly be a great addition indeed, looking at how he has performed over the last year or so.

Right-back is one such area in the squad that could use some additions in this transfer window. After all, Man United have already made Aaron Wan-Bissaka available in the market, and his potential exit could pave the way for an incoming, which is where Dumfries could play a role for us.

The Red Devils are pondering about placing a £26million

transfer bid to facilitate a move for Dumfries ahead of the next season. Whether the former will go ahead with their plan or not remains to be seen in the coming days or weeks as they look to back Erik ten Hag through signings.

Dutch revolution at Old Trafford?

It seems like we have mostly been linked with Dutch or Ajax players ever since ten Hag took over the managerial role at Theatre of Dreams. We already have an agreement in principle to complete moves for Barcelona star Frenkie de Jong and Feyenoord ace Tyrell Malacia.

Both of them are Dutch internationals, with Jurrien Timber joining them in the list as well. Antony and Lisandro Martinez constitute the rest who fall into this category at this moment. In any case, all of the above options are solid targets indeed and would uplift our current quality in defence.

In any case, the common links

with these players could help ten Hag a lot as they could quickly create cohesive chemistry between each other. Dumfries would fall into that category if we make a proposal for him and find common ground with Inter and the player himself.

The Nerazzurri are going through a bit of a difficult financial situation which we could perhaps use to our advantage to convince them to sell Dumfries. But that’s not all, as we would also need to agree on the personal terms with the Dutchman to succeed in our pursuit.

The 26-year-old’s five goals and seven assists from 45 matches last season indicate how he would suit ten Hag as an attacking full-back. That could even explain why we have decided to stick with Diogo Dalot and sell Wan-Bissaka this summer.

Dumfries’ rapid rise in the past year or so has made him a key player for club and country. His signing would massively uplift the quality of our backline but let’s hope that the Mancunians would actively pursue him as we could use someone like him in our ranks.
