Manchester United face representation issues in their attempt to complete Tyrell Malacia transfer
According to The Athletic (Subscription Required), Manchester United are currently facing some issues in their attempt to complete a transfer for Tyrell Malacia due to a representation dispute involving his agent. They have already reached an agreement with Feyenoord but are now faced with unexpected obstacles in their pathway.
Malacia opted against using his representative Ali Dursun to discuss the personal terms to finalise his move to Man United. The former decided to personally hold the talks with his father, which has caused this latest setback. Dursun has not approved this move yet, which has halted the process, so this matter must be solved for the transfer to be facilitated.
The Red Devils have already agreed to full terms with the Dutch club regarding Malacia’s signing this summer. The English side will pay €15million in a guaranteed amount plus an additional €2 million in bonuses that will only be achieved if certain targets are met in the future.
Not good news at all!
This piece of information would have dampened the hopes of the supporters regarding the official announcement of a new signing at the earliest. With this new problem, it appears that we will be facing more delays when it comes to securing our first reinforcement under Erik ten Hag’s tenure.
That is quite concerning, considering how ten Hag already began training sessions for the pre-season friendlies a few days ago. The Manchester club should have already brought in at least some additions to ensure that the new players can be seamlessly integrated alongside the existing squad.
However, that is not the case anymore, so an appropriate solution must be found at the earliest to ensure that we can add Malacia to our ranks shortly. The Dutch international would be a welcome addition to an area where we struggled to maintain consistency last season.
Luke Shaw failed to replicate the form he had shown in the 2020-21 campaign and even during the Euro 2020. Alex Telles is a shadow of his former self, having failed to replicate his displays from Porto consistently in Manchester. Brandon Williams and Alvaro Fernandez could depart on a permanent transfer and loan, respectively, this summer.

Malacia, being just 22, would bring fresh blood into our squad as his hunger and drive to succeed at the top, coupled with his quality, would greatly benefit us in the current circumstances. Hence, let’s hope that the Mancunians can someone lend a hand and solve the issue between him and his agent soon enough.
