Manchester United make Eric Bailly and Andreas Pereira sale a summer priority
According to Caught Offside via Utd District on Twitter (h/t Manchester Evening News), Manchester United have made the sale of out of favour stars like Eric Bailly and Andreas Pereira a priority for this summer. Both of them have seen their time at Old Trafford fail to meet the expectations over the years and have become pieces of baggage as a result.
Erik ten Hag has been told by Man United that their pursuit of targets apart from Barcelona superstar Frenkie de Jong would depend on their ability to move out underperforming players. Ajax forward Antony falls into that category as he would only be pursued in the summer transfer window if sales are facilitated.
The Red Devils have prepared a shortlist consisting of the list of players who have been deemed dispensable. Bailly and Pereira top that list as they are eager to part ways with both of them to help with their pursuit of Antony ahead of the next campaign.

Rough times for ten Hag?
It was widely thought that the board would do their best to help ten Hag rebuild the declined squad this summer. However, it is quite difficult to see how that would take place if our incomings would depend on the departures this summer.
What’s even more puzzling is that we are unlikely to earn enough money for Antony through Bailly and Pereira’s exits. After all, the latter two are not at their best right now, while the forward is widely regarded as someone who possesses vast potential.
Furthermore, if money was an issue, then the management’s recent actions are even more questionable as of now. After all, they recently took £11million from the club as part of the dividends, which has been met with heavy criticism within the fanbase.
Years of mismanagement were the cause of our current situation, so one would have thought that the hierarchy would put significant effort into rectifying their mistakes. However, they have not done that, and now they have even restricted ten Hag’s ability to get his targets this summer.
Earlier, The Sun had claimed that the Mancunians had placed a price tag worth £8.5million for Bailly’s signature. That would at least provide us with enough sum to boost our budget, but whether suitors can be found or not would only be known in due time.
