Transfer News: Malcolm Ebiowei snubs Manchester United for Crystal Palace
According to popular Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Derby County starlet Malcolm Ebiowei is set to sign a contract with Crystal Palace and has snubbed Manchester United in the process.
Joining Derby County from Rangers last summer, Ebiowei is one of the most highly-rated prospects in English football and has had interest from the Premier League teams. Impressing under Wayne Rooney this season, it was evident that the winger may not stay with the Rams in the third division.
The 18-year-old starlet has played 29 times for the struggling Derby team this season scoring eight goals and providing three assists across all competitions. Such numbers are impressive for a player of Ebiowei’s age and it’s no surprise that there is sustained interest to secure his services.
Manchester United were apparently keen on signing the player to their ranks this summer but it has now emerged that the talented striker has snubbed the Red Devils in favour of a transfer to Crystal Palace.
Talent lost?
If the performances in the past season are anything to go by, no one can count against Malcolm Ebiowei from becoming one of the most exciting youngsters in the Premier League in the near future.
Predominantly a right-winger who loves cutting in onto his left foot, the English starlet is also very comfortable playing as a traditional winger on the left and even down the middle when the need arises.
This kind of versatility will always hold the player in good stead wherever he goes and it means that the coach could be able to integrate him in different ways into his plans. All these characteristics hint that the player could have been a hit under Erik ten Hag.
Man United are having a wretched run of not being able to land the players they target and Ebiowei is the latest on the list. He could have been the latest addition to the crop of talented young wingers they have like Facundo Pellistri, Amad Diallo and Alejandro Garnacho.
