Transfer News: Manchester United pushing to sign Malcolm Ebiowei from Derby County
According to Jonas Hen Shrag (h/t Manchester Evening News), Manchester United are pushing to sign English starlet Malcolm Ebiowei from Derby County this summer.
The talented English winger joined the Rams from Rangers in 2021 and has since had a great season with the Wayne Rooney coached team. His performances have not gone unnoticed at all with Premier League clubs fighting for his signature.
The 18-year-old wide man played 29 times for the Rams last season scoring eight goals and providing three assists across all competitions. His contract is set to expire this summer and he could be available for free.
Ebiowei seems to have a huge future in English football and Manchester United are said to be keen on moving for the player. Signing him could hand the Red Devils another promising talent that they can nurture into a world-class player.
Familiarity helps?
If his performances this season are anything to go by, then the 18-year-old English sensation would be a great signing for the future.
As we have seen this season, Ebiowei can play on either wing and even as the striker and this kind of versatility is a huge plus for any player. The teenage starlet would be the ideal signing for the future of Man Utd.
The Red Devils have already got a few exciting wingers in their ranks and Ebiowei might be the next one in the mix. The Derby County wide man would join Alejandro Garnacho, Amad Diallo and Facundo Pellistri as a very exciting quartet for the club’s future.
The fact that we have a historic relationship with current Derby County manager Wayne Rooney could go a long way in helping this deal happen. Whilst we cannot expect any favours from Rooney, maybe the negotiations would be easier.

Hugo Ebiowei would be a huge signing for our future. It remains to be seen if we manage to pull it off but it will definitely be worth it.
