Transfer news: Manchester United learn asking price for Leeds winger Raphinha
According to Fabrizio Romano via the Metro (h/t Football.London), Manchester United are amongst the clubs who have learnt the asking price for Leeds United winger Raphinha with the Brazilian linked with a move away from the Yorkshire club this season.
Raphinha joined Leeds United from Stade Rennais in 2020 and has since then gone on to become one of the most exciting wide men in the Premier League. The Brazilian forward has developed into an exceptional player under the tutelage of the now-sacked Marcelo Bielsa.
The 25-year-old has been yet again the shining light in a struggling Leeds United team this season. The talented winger has played 36 games this season, scoring 11 goals and providing three assists across all competitions.
Raphinha has been linked with a move away from the Whites this season with Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea and Barcelona keen on a move for the winger. Leeds are apparently holding out for at least £45million for the player.
Quality option?
Anyone who has seen Raphinha play knows the quality the Brazilian possesses and he will undoubtedly be a useful addition to the Red Devils squad. A smart dribbler down the flanks, he also knows where the net is.
Manchester United are going through a squad overhaul under new manager Erik ten Hag and there could be many incomings and outgoings at Old Trafford this summer. Raphinha could be one of the players on that list.
The Brazilian will add a lot of quality to an already competent United forward line. In Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford, and Anthony Elanga we have a lot of quality already in our team and Raphinha will be an interesting addition.
However, with Leeds United keen on a decent sum for their prized asset, so it would not be a cheap deal by any means for the Red Devils. Whether they want to invest that kind of money in a winger remains to be seen.

Raphinha offers an interesting and quality option for the Red Devils. Whether they choose to take it after signing Amad Diallo and Jadon Sancho just last year is something only time will tell.
