Wolves have transfer agreement with Ruben Neves replacement Joao Palhinha amidst Manchester United interest

According to The Sun, Wolves have reached an agreement with Joao Palhinha as they line him up as a replacement for Ruben Neves, who has interest from Manchester United for a potential transfer. It is claimed that a move is set to be finalised in the coming days, which could paint a clear picture of this situation.

Man United have set their eyes on Neves as Erik ten Hag is keen to strengthen his midfield with a top signing. They have made new attempts to sign him recently after being linked with him in the last two transfer windows. Now, they are given more initiative to raise their efforts as Wolverhampton Wanderers seems to have found a replacement for him.

Bruno Lage’s side has supposedly found common ground with Sporting regarding a move for Joao Palhinha this summer. They have even reached an agreement with Palhinha over personal terms, having seen him as an ideal option to replace Neves if he leaves in the future. Whether the Red Devils can make use of this opportunity or not remains to be seen.

Man Utd to finally address midfield issues this summer?

The Manchester club’s decision not to bolster their defensive midfield last summer was not well received by the fanbase. That did play a major role in their problems that were noticeable in the previous season, which makes it even more important to solve them ahead of the next campaign.

However, we are set to lose Nemanja Matic on a free transfer this summer, which has put us in a delicate situation. After all, we do not have any natural replacements for Matic in the squad, although it remains to be seen if James Garner can get into the senior team after a successful loan spell at Nottingham Forest.

Neves, who has earned valuable Premier League experience over the years, would be a great signing indeed. Furthermore, he would seamlessly slot in as a holding midfielder, with ten Hag being a keen admirer of his talents. However, we would need to part ways with £50million for his signature.

Since the Wanderers are setting things up to potentially replace Neves moving forward, it would not be too much of a reach to say that we have a chance to secure his services this summer. That is especially the case when the midfielder has been stalling on a contract extension for quite some time.

The Portuguese international is currently contracted for two more years at Molineux, which makes his asking price quite reasonable in the transfer market. As such, it would be best if we could bring the 25-year-old to Old Trafford at the earliest to quickly integrate him into the squad.

He is in his prime physical years and can give us a lot of years of service if signed. However, fans would hope that any signings the club makes is in agreement with Erik ten Hag, considering the Dutch tactician has been trusted to lead our team back to glory days.
