Manchester United director told Andreas Pereira he fits Erik Ten Hag’s Manchester United

According to Yahoo Brasil, forgotten Manchester United star Andreas Pereira might fancy a return to the team after a club director gave him hope about the new project.

Andreas Pereira has given a decent spell for Flamengo in the 2021/22 season. He hasn’t been very productive in terms of goals and assists, but he has been able to showcase some good performances which might not have been possible at United due to lack of game time.

Pereira’s future was hanging by a thread as the Brazilian star was waiting for Flamengo to make his move permanent. However, the South American outfit hasn’t completed the deal despite just one month left on his loan spell. After such a bad response from the club, the 26-year-old has become unsatisfied.

Andreas Pereira told that he still has a future at Manchester United.

Now it is believed that Pereira was told by a United director that he could be useful to Ten Hag and he fits the profile the club requires now. The new manager is expected to talk with the Brazilian star regarding his future.

Manchester United were not willing to let Pereira leave for the €10m that Flamengo offered and they only allowed him to go on loan to Brazil because he wanted it. Now as his intentions have changed, he might fancy a comeback to Old Trafford.

Would Pereira be helpful?

During his first spell at Manchester United Pereira wasn’t very productive. However, considering he played from the central midfield role most of the time, it was quite difficult for him to secure goals and assists. Regardless, his skills and passing ability helped him to play an influential role in some matches.

Ten Hag might be looking for a complete rebuild at Manchester United. The Dutch manager has a lot of work to do and he might be inclined to use club funds for crucial reinforcements in the summer window. He has a specific playing style and might require certain players who have specific skill sets.

However, he might not get everything he needs as there would be a limited budget. In certain scenarios, players like Pereira could help him if he fits the playing style. The manager wouldn’t have to sign a player for a significant sum and he would also get a midfielder who knows his way around Old Trafford and knows his teammates.

It remains to be seen how the conversation goes between the manager and the midfielder. Pereira’s agent has already hinted that the player is eager to return to Europe, hence it is not illogical to think that he would continue his United journey.
