Juventus star Paulo Dybala hints at future plans amidst Manchester United transfer links

Juventus star Paulo Dybala has given some insight on his plans for the future amidst links to Manchester United for a potential transfer. He has already confirmed his departure from Allianz Stadium, which has attracted attention from a host of clubs across Europe.

Dybala will become a free agent when his contract with Juve expires this summer. That has seen him be added to the radars of many European sides ahead of the next season. Man United are one of them, with Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Inter Milan being the other parties.

Speaking in an interview with ESPN (h/t Metro), the Argentinian has hinted that he may remain in Italy due to being very comfortable with the current surroundings. Dybala did say that he would like to experience playing in different leagues but reiterated once again how he is happy in Serie A.

“I am quite calm, the people who work with are taking care. In Italy I am very comfortable. I would still like to know other leagues like Premier, Liga… but I’m happy in Italy.”

Do Man Utd need Dybala?

The 28-year-old was recently involved in the 3-0 victory over Italy as Argentina beat them to win the Finalissima title. While he was only subbed on in the latter stages of the match, he looked very sharp after coming on and even scored a goal to make the third in the final.

The Serie A superstar had enjoyed a solid campaign with Juve last season despite being affected by injuries. While Dybala has not reached the heights many expected him to attain, he is still a world-class player and his ability to create opportunities while being a goal-scoring threat makes him an attractive signing indeed.

The South American is more than capable of playing in several positions in the attack, which means that signing him would give Erik ten Hag more options to work with, looking at the current state of our frontline. After all, we are set to lose Juan Mata, Jesse Lingard and Edinson Cavani for free this summer which would be a massive dent in our squad depth.

At the same time, there are question marks over other choices like Marcus Rashford, who struggled throughout the last term. The same can be said for Anthony Martial, as he has returned from a mixed loan spell at Sevilla. Mason Greenwood’s indefinite suspension adds to our attacking woes, highlighting how securing a flexible attacker’s signature can help to overcome these issues.

Dybala can be that man, but if he has his mind set on staying in Italy, we must do our best to convince him of the project we are building under ten Hag. Furthermore, the attacker would also be able to reunite with Cristiano Ronaldo at Old Trafford, but whether that will play a role in this race or not remains to be seen.
