Manchester United get transfer boost as Napoli eye Armando Broja for potential Victor Osimhen exit
According to the Italian outlet Calcio Napoli 24 (h/t The Express), Manchester United have received a boost in their pursuit of Victor Osimhen after Napoli lined up a move for Armando Broja as a potential replacement. The former is expected to be involved in the transfer market to strengthen their attack for backing Erik ten Hag this summer.
As such, Man United have expressed their interest in signing Osimhen on a potential transfer after this season. That being said, they are not handed a free run at his services since Arsenal are also vying to get their hands on the centre-forward. Now, both of them are given more incentives to target the 23-year-old this summer.
The Italian club’s sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli has contacted Broja to discuss the possibility of a transfer as they are interested in securing his signature. They are preparing for a scenario where Osimhen could leave, which has prompted them to take this decision. Talks are progressing right now, which would undoubtedly be a piece of great news for the Red Devils.
Can Man Utd take advantage?
It would not be too much of a reach to say that the Manchester club could sign Osimhen in the summer transfer window. After all, the Serie A side are planning for life after the Nigerian, which is evident from their pursuit of Chelsea star Broja. Hence, they could perhaps facilitate a move for their star player in the future.
We are desperate for some forward additions, considering how Cristiano Ronaldo had to pretty much carry the team several times in the current campaign. That is not an ideal scenario, and with the summer departures that are in line to take place, the board must prepare for what lies in store for them moving forward.
Osimhen would be a great choice, considering how he has developed to become a fully-fledged superstar since leaving Lille to move to Italy. The Gunners would make life difficult for us, but their failure to qualify for next term’s Champions League level the playing field for us.
The Mancunians must approach Luciano Spalletti’s side and set things up for a potential transfer this summer. After all, it would be best if we could firmly place ourselves in an ideal position ahead of Mikel Arteta’s team ahead of the next campaign.

That being said, we also face a different kind of threat in the form of Inter Milan, Southampton, AC Milan, West Ham United and Newcastle United. That is because all of them are targeting Broja, and should they scupper Gli Azzurri‘s plans, that could be problematic for our interest in Osimhen.
The Blues could also cause issues, considering how Broja is tied down on a long contract until 2026. Furthermore, Thomas Tuchel did say that the striker would join them in pre-season, after which a decision will be made on his future. The fans would hope to see a stance in Napoli’s favour as it would help us in our pursuit to sign Osimhen.
