Fabrizio Romano reveals meeting between agent of Manchester United star Paul Pogba and Juventus to discuss summer move
According to Gianluca di Marzio, as relayed by football journalist Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, the agent of Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba is scheduled to be in Turin on Monday to discuss a potential return to Juventus during the upcoming summer transfer window.
Pogba is set to become a free agent when his current deal at Old Trafford expires at the end of the season. He has thus far shown no indication that he would like to continue in Manchester beyond the summer, and is likely to leave the club for a second time this summer.
Into the final few weeks of his contract, the Frenchman is free to discuss a potential move with foreign clubs regarding the signing of a pre-contract agreement. This could perhaps see him make a transfer return to Turin, where he enjoyed a trophy-laden career between 2012 and 2016.
The 29-year-managed to win four consecutive Scudetto titles with the Serie A giants, as well as multiple domestic cup competitions. He also reached the final of the Champions League in 2015, but unfortunately lost to Barcelona in a 3-1 rout in the summer clash.
Possible return to Turin in the summer
Now it looks like he could be heading back to Italy once again from England, as Romano revealed that the player’s agent is due to meet with officials from Juventus on Monday. The France international’s wage demands are said to be the main point of discussion.
The transfer expert however, said that the midfielder is also exploring other options aside from the Italian club. Paris Saint-Germain is another possible destination, and the French side are also in talks with the World Cup winner’s agents. Manchester City has been ruled out of the transfer race, as Pogba is not tempted to move to United’s rivals.
It now looks like Pogba’s second spell in Manchester is about to come to a close, after spending six years at the club. If he departs, then he will leave the Premier League side having won three trophies – the FA Community Shield, League Cup, and the UEFA Europa League.
His time in England has not been as successful as his time in Italy, and neither have his performances reached the same level. He has shown sparks of brilliance in games at times with United, but has not been able to sustain his form.

His potential departure in the summer will stretch the club’s midfield thin, with Fred and Scott McTominay remaining as the squad’s only remaining central midfielders. Nemanja Matic has also announced his exit at the end of the season, leaving the Red Devils in need of reinforcements in the summer.
It seemingly looks like new manager Erik ten Hag will begin his stint at Old Trafford without the services of Pogba, although his final destination is undecided as of yet. It will be curious to see who the Dutchman signs to replace the outgoing midfielder in the upcoming transfer window.
