Manchester United set price tag on forward Marcus Rashford in case of a summer exit amidst Premier League interest
According to 90min (h/t Express), Manchester United have decided on their asking price for forward Marcus Rashford if the player decides to leave the club in the upcoming summer transfer window, with several Premier League clubs sniffing around for the star.
The Englishman has fallen down the pecking order in attack at his boyhood club, unable to land a starting spot due to the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Edinson Cavani, Jadon Sancho, and Anthony Elanga taking up space in the team.
The Carrington graduate has been reduced to a substitute role for the majority of the season, which is something the player is not used to in his United career. This has seen him consider his future in Manchester, and he could be set for an exit in the summer.
The England international has picked up interest from Premier League sides such as Arsenal and Newcastle United, who are both looking to add attacking reinforcements to their squad. The forward has also seen ‘even stronger’ interest from clubs abroad, with Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona lining up to secure his services in the near future.
Rashford frustrated at United
Despite him feeling frustrated at the club due to his lack of minutes in the team and their inability to win silverware in the past few years, Rashford would like to stay at United in the long term. With the World Cup coming up later this year, the 24-year-old is keen to make the England squad that jets off to Qatar and is aware that he needs more game-time to get on that flight.
Any interested club looking to prise the forward away from the Red Devils would be required to pay a minimum of £60m in the upcoming summer transfer window. These sides need also be aware that Rashford may change his mind about an exit, as he is waiting to speak with incoming new manager Erik ten Hag to see if he has a future under the Dutchman.
It is quite disappointing to see Rashford get to this stage in his career, given how things were different just a few years back. The academy graduate burst onto the scene by scoring a brace on his Europa League debut, and then followed it up with another double against Arsenal on his maiden Premier League appearance.
He would also score a debut goal on his first start for England, getting a call-up to the national team while he was still very young. Much was expected from him in the coming years, but unfortunately, he has failed to live up to those lofty expectations.

The player looks like he plays with a burden on his shoulders, and has looked terribly out of form when he takes to the pitch. Things hit a new low this season when he was snubbed for the Manchester derby to lead the line for the team, despite both Ronaldo and Cavani being ruled out due to injury.
Despite his drastic dip in form, there has been no shortage of interest for the Englishman in the summer. We have seen the talent residing inside Rashford, and perhaps a fresh start away for the player could do him a whole lot of good. Only time will tell whether the fan favourite remains at his boyhood club next term.
