Transfer News: Manchester United have been notified about the transfer price of Victor Osimhen
According to transfer news from Corriere Dello Sport (h/p Sport Witness), Napoli has demanded a transfer fee of €110m for Manchester United target Victor Osimhen.
The 23-\year-old remains a crucial player for Napoli, having scored 17 goals and assisted six more in 29 appearances across all competitions this campaign. The Nigerian striker’s productive output has helped his team secure a respectable 3rd spot on the Serie A table.
Victor Osimhen has remained under the transfer radar of Manchester United for a pretty long time. It was also believed that the Red Devils informally made an offer to the 23-year-old, but it didn’t lead to anything concrete in the end. Apart from Man United, Arsenal are also keeping track of the talented centre-forward.
Knowing the increased interest around Victor Osimhen, the owner of Napoli, Aurelio De Laurentiis, is eyeing to secure the best deal out of the transfer of the Nigerian forward. It is believed that Napoli has communicated with the interested teams that they have to pay a fee in the region of €110m in order to secure the signature of the 23-year-old.
Manchester United remain highly attentive to the offer. It seems they are readying a €100m bid to be formally registered very soon.
Is it a good deal for United?
Apart from Cristiano Ronaldo, Man United’s forward line’s output remains below average. Summer arrival Jadon Sancho is still struggling to adapt to the team, while Marcus Rashford and Edinson Cavani have remained off-form for a pretty long time.
Amid such a scenario, Man United probably would require a quality striker who can produce for the team. Victor Osimhen fits the profile impressively. He might even be able to take off the pressure from Cristiano Ronaldo’s shoulder upon joining the team.
Ronaldo might have to be replaced down in the line. When he eventually leaves or calls it quits, Man United would already have his replacement ready in the form of Osimhen. Being only 23-year-old at this point, he would be able to provide several peak year performances if our team signs him soon.

However, Osimhen’s price makes him an expensive investment for any team. Having already spent a considerable amount of money in the summer window to bring Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho and Raphaël Varane last summer window, the Red Devils might not have much left in the transfer wallet after spending the colossal fee of the Nigerian star.
As the team is already preparing an offer, it remains to be seen whether Napoli agrees to such a deal. Even if they give away Osimhen at Man United’s proposed price, they would be walking away with massive money.
