The Emirates Stadium will play host to the fixture that could set the tone for the coveted fourth-place finish in the Premier League. With Arsenal currently facing a dip in form, this could be the perfect opportunity for Manchester United to get one over our bitter PL rivals.

The Red Devils got the better of Mikel Arteta’s men in the reverse fixture this season as a double from Cristiano Ronaldo helped them edge a narrow 3-2 victory on the day. The Mancunian club will be hoping that they can produce the same result again at home to the North London club.

The Gunners have lost their last three matches on the trot in the Premier League, taking on Chelsea before they face us in their own den. Our results have also blown hot and cold over the course of the season, relying heavily on Ronaldo to get us over the line on several occasions.

Arsenal Preview

The Emirates outfit comes on the back of a very troubling run at the moment having lost to Crystal Palace, Brighton & Hove Albion along with Southampton. The North London club looked assured of a fourth-place finish a few matches ago but that now seems to be put into jeopardy.

Their last victory in the PL as of writing came at Villa Park. As such the pressure will be piling on Mikel Arteta to put forward favourable results as he was backed heavily with a spending figure of £149.04 million this season.

Player to watch: Emile Smith Rowe

Despite the fact that the English midfielder has struggled to have the desired impact in the last few games, he has shown us what he is capable of doing. The 21-year-old midfielder has already bagged 10 goals and two assists in 31 matches across all competitions for the Gunners so far this campaign.

His versatility has seen him play as an attacking midfielder, left midfielder, central midfielder, left winger, second striker as well as a centre-forward in the 2021-22 season. The Man Utd backline should be wary of the threat that he possesses on the ball.

Manchester United Preview

The Red Devils have had an oscillating season to say the least and a top-four finish in the PL can be viewed as the most realistic target at the moment. After exit from every other competition, winning against Arsenal becomes even more important in the greater context. The provide you with the relatively risk-free option to profit from the outcome of this match.

Despite edging out the Canaries in their last Prem outing, Ralf Rangnick’s men succumbed to a humiliating loss against Everton and a timid draw to Leicester City prior to that. Their bouts with consistency remain a major problem. That being said, history does favour us as we have emerged victorious in 65, lost in 53, and drew on 37 occasions in 155 matches across all competitions against the Gunners to date.

Player to Watch: Cristiano Ronaldo

The Portuguese superstar has been our main talisman at Old Trafford this campaign. Despite being in his late 30s, he has carried this team on his shoulder time and again. The former Real Madrid hitman has bagged 21 goals and three assists in 35 matches across all competitions this term for the Red Devils.

On his day, he can be a menace to even the best and he showed what he was capable of against Dean Smith’s men. We would be hoping to get a glimpse of this ferociousness in front of goal as we look to snatch three very important points against Arsenal in a bid for a UEFA Champions League spot next season.
