Ralf Rangnick sends message to Manchester United star Donny van de Beek about Everton loan

Ralf Rangnick has delivered an ultimatum to Manchester United star Donny van de Beek about his loan spell at Everton. The boss has tipped the attacking midfielder to do two tasks in the rest of this campaign to make the best case for himself ahead of a return to Old Trafford.

Van de Beek had struggled to get regular game time despite Rangnick taking over the reins from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Bruno Fernandes was preferred ahead of him in most cases, which had led to his plight. That eventually resulted in the midfielder getting loaned to Goodison Park in an attempt to build on his stagnated career after leaving Ajax.

Speaking in the pre-match press conference ahead of the Premier League game vs the Toffees (h/t Manchester United official website), Rangnick mentioned that he could not give more minutes to the Dutch ace due to heavy competition in the midfield.

“I like Donny as a player and he had a lot of rivalry in his positions from other players. With a high level of competition, that’s why he didn’t get the amount of game-time and that’s why he asked me and us to give him the chance to go elsewhere.”

The German coach finally advised the 24-year-old to help the Merseyside club remain in the England top-flight as they are currently battling it out to ensure survival. The manager also urged the midfielder to get as many minutes as possible to make the best case for himself when he eventually returns to Man United.

“Unfortunately, he was injured in the last couple of weeks and couldn’t play. Tomorrow, he will not be able to play anyway, but, in the next seven or eight games that they have, he will hopefully help them to stay in the league and get as much game-time as possible.”

It is unfortunate how the PL ace’s time with us has turned out over the years. No one would have expected the current situation to unravel when we bought him for £35million, excluding add ons from the Amsterdam based club.

Will van de Beek play vs Manchester United?

Van de Beek’s time with the Liverpool-based club has also been difficult so far since he has featured just six times so far. He has been out injured in recent weeks, which came at an unfortunate time, adding to his list of troubles.

The Dutchman will be out for our match against us later today. We remain hopeful that he will enjoy a great end to this season, considering how he still can get the chance to make a name for himself.

Dele Alli, who competes against Van de Beek, has not covered himself in glory, which means that the latter would get opportunities once he returns from injury. Let’s hope that the Red Devils loanee can turn his fortunes around with a great end to the current campaign.

Who knows, maybe we can even see Van de Beek become a regular under Erik ten Hag if the latter is appointed as our next manager. Ten Hag is in contention to take over the managerial role, which could give the midfielder the breakthrough he has been yearning for so far.

The two, of course, enjoyed a successful time together in Amsterdam.
