Diogo Dalot demands Manchester United to be mentally and physically ready to beat Everton

Diogo Dalot has advised the Manchester United squad that they need to be mentally and physically ready to beat Everton later today. The Premier League fixture will take place at Goodison Park, where his side will look to get over the disappointing 1-1 draw against Leicester City last week.

Man United are far from their best at this moment despite them currently being at a crucial point in their season. They will need to cover some ground if there are plans to achieve Champions League qualification for the next campaign. Dalot has instructed his side on what they need to do to help with their case against the Toffees.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with MUTV (h/t Manchester United official website), the Portuguese international has issued a warning to the Red Devils about the challenge that awaits them later today. He added that they could not be lethargic against Frank Lampard’s side since the hosts are desperate to win points due to their relegation-threatened situation.

“To go to Goodison Park, it’s always a tough atmosphere to play, we know that they’re struggling a little bit, but they will have motivation to play against us, so we need to expect everything and be ready for any kind of challenge. They are fighting for their lives. We need to be completely sharp, completely focused on what we need to do, and expect them to try everything to get points out of the game.”

Will Man Utd drop a convincing performance vs Everton?

The 23-year-old then explains what the Manchester side needs to do against the Merseyside club to get all three points. He added that the visitors must work on their physical and mental levels to win the league fixture at the end of the day. The defender finally expresses how they must build on these improvements to help in their pursuit to have a top-four finish in the league table.

“We need to start building again, especially on a physicality level. We need to be more aggressive, we need to want [to win] more than the other team. [Our] quality will come out for itself but the physical levels, the mental levels have to be more than them so that we can win the game.”

The PL star has rallied his teammates to use the league clash later today as a means to build momentum for the rest of this term. The right-back is spot-on as we must not fall off anymore if the club wants to finish in the top four places at the end of this season.

The Liverpool based club are close to the relegation zone, and they have been in a poor run of form for some time now. Despite that, we cannot take them for granted, as teams have been known to raise their game when their backs are against the wall.

Lampard’s side still boasts the quality to survive in the league, but we must not allow them to get a good result against us to help with their case. The draw to Leicester was a disappointing one, to say the least, as we could have gained some ground since Arsenal lost 3-0 against Crystal Palace.

It remains to be seen whether the players would be prepared on a physical and mental level to get all three points against Everton or not. Let’s hope that is the case, as anything other than a win could see us fall further off in our pursuit to achieve CL qualification.

As for Dalot, it remains to be seen if he starts today or not. He has had a decent time under Rangnick and is not a shabby option to have down that flank if the team wants to attack from out wide.
