PL rivals hand initiative to Man United following transfer stance on 24-year-old ace

Transfer News: Everton will sell Richarlison this summer amidst Manchester United interest

According to The Sun, Everton are ready to sell Richarlison this summer transfer window amidst interest from Manchester United for a potential move. The former has been ravaged by a poor run of form throughout this season, which accompanies a succession of financial blows in the past three campaigns.

The Toffees have recorded a ludicrous £373million in losses over the past three terms, which has seen them top the list in the Premier League. As such, they are looking to part ways with the Brazilian to manage their books moving forward. Frank Lampard is against the move, but he also understands their current situation.

That being said, Richarlison’s future at Goodison Park would depend upon

Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who is also in the same boat as him. The Merseysiders would only look to sell one of the attacking duo, which means that the Brazilian attacker could still stay with them if Calvert-Lewin is moved out.

Opportunity for Man Utd?

The Liverpool based club’s current stance in and of itself gives us a boost in our pursuit to sign Richarlison. The 24-year-old is claimed to be one of our potential transfer targets as we near the end of this season. However, we have to wait and see whom would they sell this summer.

Calvert-Lewin has attracted interest from Arsenal, and he is currently valued at £60million, which is a solid price indeed. It will be a blow for us if the Gunners are willing to pay that amount as it could help Lampard’s side in their financially stricken situation.

However, Everton could probably sell Richarlison if they believe he can bring in more money than Calvert-Lewin. With Barcelona and Real Madrid keeping tabs on the Brazil international, there is a possibility of a bidding war taking place after this campaign.

With Edinson Cavani nearing the end of his current contract, we are in desperate need to bring in a centre-forward. Cavani is set to leave Old Trafford, and renewing him would not make sense considering how injuries have plagued his second season with us. He has suffered another injury recently, which highlights how his second term has been affected by regular setbacks.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s future is clouded by uncertainty, and even if he stays past this summer, we cannot depend on him as he is nearing the end of his playing career. Marcus Rashford has been poor throughout this campaign, while Anthony Martial has had a hard time on loan at Sevilla. Mason Greenwood is currently suspended, which paints the picture of our need for a striker.

Richarlison is a solid choice, and he can improve on his current output by moving to a bigger club. He is often limited by how poor Everton have been over the past few years, which is proven when he plays for his national team. Whether the Manchester club will have a chance to secure his series or not would only be known in due time.
