Is Jamie Vardy fit for the Manchester United vs Leicester City game?
Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy has had a tumultuous season, to say the least. Injury woes have restricted the English striker’s playing time to just 79 minutes in 2022. The 35-year-old made his first start against Leeds United in this calendar year on 5th March after being out on the sidelines for more than two months.
But there was little to no respite as the former Fleetwood Town player sustained a knock to the knee with Brendan Rodgers being hopeful that Vardy would be able to make it back in a span of three to four weeks after that clash.
Despite his woes, the English striker has been one of the most influential figures in the attacking department at King Power stadium. Jamie Vardy has netted 10 goals and bagged two assists in 18 Premier League appearances for the Foxes this season.
This goes to show that the veteran striker still has the ability to make a mark on the big stage and the Red Devils will have to be wary of the threat that the 35-year-old can pose should he be fit. The Mancunian club have struggled with bouts of inconsistency this season.
They have struggled to hold their own and have leaked goals at an alarming rate against some of the top clubs in the PL this campaign. That is a worrying sign considering the huge investment that has been poured in an attempt to create a solid defensive setup at Old Trafford
The Manchester-based club currently sit-in sixth position on the Prem table, with arch-rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal above us. A top-four finish in the PL sounds like the most realistic target for the Red Devils who have now been eliminated from every other competition.
This is a task easier said than done and the Mancunian club will have to put in top performances week in and week out if they are to come close to achieving this feat. With the business end of the season, the club would like to build some momentum and use it as a launching pad for the upcoming campaigns.
Is Jamie Vardy fit to face Manchester United?
The English talisman has a great record scoring six goals and providing four assists in 16 matches across all competitions against the Old Trafford outfit. While Vardy could be nearing a return, Rodgers could err on the side of caution taking his recent track record with injuries into account.
That being said, only time can confirm whether or not the 35-year-old striker will play against us. It would certainly be a big blow if he does feature in the game as his menacing runs and lethal finishing could be a pivotal factor in the outcome of the game coming Saturday

Mind games are common in such situations when opposition managers want to give away as less as possible so that their tactics and selection remain covert at least until an hour before kick-off. If not Vardy, Leicester have a few options up front to play instead of him.
Kelechi Iheanacho, who is a former Manchester City striker, and new signing Patson Daka are both potent strikers on their day- with Ayoze Perez also in contention to start if Vardy misses out.
