Transfer News:Bayern Munich table offer for Manchester United target and Ajax starlet Ryan Gravenberch
According to Telegraaf (h/t Manchester Evening News), Bayern Munich have put an offer on the table for Ajax Amsterdam rising star Ryan Gravenberch who is also on the radar of Manchester United. The 19-year-old has been attracting a lot of interest across Europe whose current contract with the Dutch club expires in 2023.
The 19-year-old has already made 37 appearances across all competitions for de Godenzonen, bagging two goals and notching up six assists in the process. He has grown in stature in the last couple of seasons showing potential signs of becoming a world-beater.
The teenager is majorly used as a central midfielder but can also be deployed as a defensive midfielder if the need arises. His ability to get into pockets of space coupled with a certain flair on the ball are the key characteristics of his play.
The Dutch midfielder still has a long way to go in the footballing world but has grown in leaps and bounds under the tutelage of Erik ten Hag. The Dutch manager has carved out a stellar reputation of developing young talent and preparing them for the big stage.
At 19, the Dutch midfielder could have some of his best footballing years ahead of him. The Manchester-based club could mold him as per their requirement in a bid to future-proof their midfield for years to come.
More midfielders at Old Trafford?
According to a recent tweet by Fabrizio Romano, it is believed that the German club have put in an official offer of €15m guaranteed plus add-ons worth €10m with the potential deal amounting to about €25m. It is also believed that the defending Eredivisie champions will hold out for a larger sum. With the interest from Munich, the Red Devils will have to act swiftly if they are genuinely interested in the youngster.
Bruno Fernandes has made the role of central midfield his very own at Old Trafford with Fred and Scott McTominay, being deployed as a double pivot on most occasions. The club also has the option of Nemanja Matic whilst former Ajax star Donny van de Beek is currently out on loan with Everton in a bid for more playing minutes.
While this shows the kind of depth that they possess in midfield, the Mancunian club has struggled to dominate games as regularly as they would have liked. A young rising star like Gravenberch could help provide a reliable option in midfield for years to come. That being said, the Red Devils will have to act swiftly if they are genuinely interested in the youngster.
