Manchester United handed transfer boost as Aurelien Tchouameni is set to reject Real Madrid
According to the Spanish outlet Marca (h/t The Sun), Manchester United have received a boost in the race to sign AS Monaco star Aurelien Tchouameni as he is set to reject the interest from Real Madrid. He has quickly become a regular for both club and country, which is a nod to the sublime quality that he possesses even at such an early age.
Tchouameni does not have any intentions to move to the La Liga in the 2022 summer transfer window. He would prefer to join a Premier League side after this season and will snub interest from Real Madrid as a result. Man United are in the mix as well, and this update will be a great piece of news for them.
However, the Red Devils would need to be on their toes since Liverpool are also monitoring the Frenchman’s progress at this moment in time. Jurgen Klopp’s side are in line to put in a transfer bid this summer and could prove to be a thorn in our side. Chelsea could also pose competition if they can find a solution to their current predicament by finding new owners as soon as possible.
Tchouameni to Man Utd?
If this piece of information is to be believed, we are greatly boosted as it essentially takes down one of the strong competitors in Los Blancos from the transfer race. This boon could potentially be the one thing that we needed to go in our favour to bring the 22-year-old to Old Trafford.
That being said, there are still obstacles left in our pathway, with the Reds being the most dangerous of them at this stage. After all, they are in a much better position than us, even if it is a hard pill to swallow. As such, the prospect of moving to Anfield would be more attractive than joining Ralf Rangnick’s side. We also have to keep an eye on the Blues and their situation in case they solve the current crisis.
However, we can try to convince the Ligue 1 midfielder about the project we are building to push us back to the top. We need someone like him in our ranks, considering we lack pivot options in the midfield. Nemanja Matic is the only natural option in our squad, and he is well past his best right now.

Others like Fred and Scott McTominay can play there, but their limitations on the ball have affected us when they have played in the holding role.
