Manchester United handed managerial boost as Erik ten Hag is growing frustrated at Ajax

According to The Mirror, Manchester United have been handed a massive managerial boost as Erik ten Hag is growing frustrated at Ajax ahead of next season. He is one of the candidates for the coaching role at Old Trafford, and this could potentially be the breakthrough that the English club has been looking for for some time.

Ten Hag is becoming dispirited at Amsterdam due to the constant challenge to rebuild the squad because of his side’s transfer policy. The Dutch club’s willingness to sell top talents at appropriate prices results in a huge turnover regularly, which is causing issues for their man in charge.

The Dutchman has reiterated the problem in an open interview he gave recently. The coach has expressed that he understands the Eredivisie side’s stance and their transfer policy. However, the 52-year-old did explain his frustration by saying that they cannot compete for the Champions League if there is no change in this situation moving forward.

“The lifespan of our team has always been short in recent years. I understood – and still understand – the sale of players. But you can hardly cope with such bloodletting if you want to continue to play a significant role in the Champions League. You need giant players for that – and Ajax can not buy that calibre of players.”

Get Ten Hag right now!

This update is huge for us, considering the managerial uncertainty we have right now at Carrington. One look at our rivals like Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea would tell you that we need someone who can instil an identity that suits modern football. Ten Hag could be that man considering how well he has performed with his side despite the transfer constraints imposed on him.

The Manchester club’s board must take advantage of this opportunity and put an end to the uncertainty. What’s more, it is also claimed that Ten Hag is ready to “answer the Red Devils’ SOS” and is willing to keep Ralf Rangnick alongside him on the managerial bench. If this is to be believed, things could not get any better for us.

With Rangnick also having given his approval to sign Ten Hag alongside several others inside the club, some fans may want the club to jump the gun at the earliest in the coming weeks. But given that this is an important appointment- perhaps the most important one since David Moyes’ arrival- we should give it a little more time.

But that doesn’t mean the club should not lay the groundwork for a potential deal with the Dutchman. Despite our decline, we still have the pull to bring in top talents and keep hold of them for a long time. Moreover, with ten Hag’s help, we could make United one of the world’s top destinations for the globe’s best players to come and play for.

It remains to be seen how this situation would pan out in the coming months ahead of the end of this campaign. We are hopeful that the hierarchy will not let us down once again and sign a suitable, qualified, and accomplished manager to ensure that we build a strong project towards a better future.
