“Haven’t asked”- Rangnick explains if Ronaldo can make Man United squad for Spurs clash

Corinthians are interested in Manchester United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.

Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick declares forward Cristiano Ronaldo fit for Tottenham Hotspur test

According to football journalist Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, Manchester United ace Cristiano Ronaldo has been declared fit by interim boss Ralf Rangnick ahead of the Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur.

The player did not make the matchday squad last weekend for the Manchester derby at the Etihad Stadium as United fell to a heavy 4-1 defeat to their noisy neighbours, with Ronaldo out injured due to a problem with his hip flexor.

Now, Romano confirmed news from Rangnick, with the German saying that the forward has resumed training and is fit again to take to the field against Spurs at Old Trafford on Saturday.

The United number 7 has also been out of form in recent weeks, looking frustrated on the pitch and failing to convert chances created by his teammates as the team have dropped crucial points this season due to disappointing defeats and frustrating draws.

Ronaldo fit once again

There were rumours swirling around the club that the Portugal skipper was dropped from the starting XI against Manchester City last weekend due to tactical reasons, and that Ronaldo was unhappy with his situation at United.

However, Romano has quoted Rangnick, saying that the former RB Leipzig boss has not talked to the striker about his feelings towards the club and the team, but was raring to go against Spurs and he was contemplating which formation to go ahead with for the game.

The Portuguese superstar made a return to United for the first time since leaving in 2009, after spells with Real Madrid and Juventus over the past decade. He continued his successful career at Old Trafford in Spain and Italy, and made a comeback to England for a second spell with the Manchester side.

Although he hit the ground running at the Theatre of Dreams, his form has waned and he looks short of confidence in front of goal – something that we never expected to see from the prolific forward. In recent games, he has looked a shadow of the player he once was.

However, his return from injury is definitely a boost for us, with the player relied upon to produce the magic we all know and expect from him from anywhere on the pitch. We can hope that his return from injury has made him fresh and ready to take on the challenge, starting with Tottenham this weekend.

Ronaldo was on the scoresheet the last time we faced Spurs, and a repeat of the same will be expected by the Stretford End, who are sure to sing his name as he takes to the field. Only time will tell if he makes the starting XI or not, and all eyes will be on Rangnick to see what the German has planned against the Lilywhites.
