Tottenham Hotspur superstar Harry Kane and PSG coach Mauricio Pochettino tipped to join Manchester United

Watford legend Troy Deeney has predicted that Tottenham Hotspur superstar Harry Kane and PSG coach Mauricio Pochettino will join Manchester United in the future. The former striker played for the Hornets between 2010 and 2021 and has scored a whopping 140 goals alongside 62 assists from 419 appearances.

Pochettino has been linked to the managerial role of Man United as Ralf Rangnick is in charge of the team only on an interim basis. The board will appoint a permanent coach at the end of this season, and the Argentine is one of the leading options for the job. Kane, however, was subjected to a failed move to Manchester City last summer and his future with Spurs is still uncertain at this instant.

Writing in his column for The Sun, Deeney believes that the Englishman will end up leaving Tottenham for the Red Devils in the future. He also added that the Paris Saint-Germain coach could be the one to spearhead the new project at Carrington.

“Manchester City still haven’t got a striker in. Manchester United are in the same boat. Those buying young are in the rebuild phase. But City, United, Liverpool, Chelsea, haven’t got time to wait three years. For what it’s worth, here’s what I think will happen: Mauricio Pochettino will leave Paris Saint-Germain and go to Manchester United, as will Harry Kane.”

Possible?

Earlier this week, The Telegraph (Subscription Required) has claimed that the Manchester club is set to target the England skipper if the Ligue 1 boss would take over the managerial job. The centre-forward is also stated to be interested in working with his former boss again, so a move cannot be ruled out at all.

The prediction from the former Premier League attacker could hold some weight after all and could even come to fruition in the future. We would be ecstatic if that happens this summer, as securing the duo’s services would do wonders in helping us put an end to this title drought.

Since the Argentinian boss is one of the frontrunners for the coaching role, a domino effect could take place after this season. With Rangnick taking over as a consultant and the former Spurs manager at the helm, we could really have a great chance of building towards a better future.

The 28-year-old could greatly help in doing so as he can have a shot at achieving some silverware that he has yearned for quite a long time. Moreover, his departure would reduce the quality of one of our direct rivals, which will give us another boost in the process. Moreover, the expected exit of Edinson Cavani and Cristiano Ronaldo not being at his best has opened up a lot in the striker role.

With time running out ahead of the summer transfer window, it will be interesting to see whether our pursuit to sign Pochettino would be successful or not. That outcome would be really important as his potential signing could play a part in whether we can finally sign our long term target in Kane.
