According to the Italian news outlet Corriere dello Sport, Manchester United are engaged in a heavily contested battle with Barcelona and other clubs for Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz. He could be subjected to a bidding war next summer as a result of his contract situation.
Ruiz is in line to enter the final year of his current contract at Naples if an extension is not agreed upon in the coming months. Newcastle United had a £40million transfer bid rejected, but they have retained their interest in signing him. With Paul Pogba’s contract expiring next summer, we do need to be wary about his potential departure. Jesse Lingard is also on the same boat, which adds to the need for our midfield signings.
