Transfer News: Paul Pogba set to leave Manchester United with Juventus a possible destination

According to Samuel Luckhurst, the club correspondent of Manchester Evening NewsPaul Pogba will most likely leave Manchester United in the summer transfer window, with Juventus being touted as a possible destination. Uncertainty surrounds the air regarding his future at Old Trafford.

Pogba has entered the final six months of his current deal with Man United and is in line to leave the club at the end of this season. The chances of him staying past this summer are close to being zero, which has put the club in a bit of a tight spot. Moreover, he has not shown any signs of renewing his contract, which further adds to this point.

Juve could swipe away the Frenchman on a free transfer, which would be a massive blow to the Red Devils, considering the money they spent in landing him in 2016. Pogba could have signed a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs this month, but that has not been the case so far.

No return for Pogba?

The general belief within the club is that the 28-year-old would be departing Old Trafford. The player holds all the aces here and if there is any turnaround in this situation, it has to come from Pogba who has so far lacked any initiative.

It is high time we clear out players who have lost the drive to fight for the club. If that means we would lose the France international for free, then so be it. He previously rejected an extension last year, which should have been a warning sign of what was to come.

The Red Devils ace’s departure would be a massive blow in terms of quality and a reflection of the financial losses incurred in the process. Looking back, we were unable to take full advantage of his skill and cannot dwell on what has happened for much longer.

We have to prepare for life after Pogba and find suitable targets to fill the Man United superstar’s boots when he eventually leaves us. The midfield has been an issue for us and it is imperative that we address it in the upcoming summer transfer window.

However, we must ensure stability in the managerial role first before looking to bring in a replacement for Pogba. After all, the permanent manager would want players that suit his style of play, which is the sensible thing to do. They know what is to come and the club should use the upcoming months to lay the foundations for a successful summer.
