The Toffees have been reasonably active in the current transfer window. The Merseyside team has already welcomed Nathan Patterson from Rangers and Vitaliy Mykolenko from Dynamo Kiev and are looking to bolster their midfield options with the signing of the Red Devils youngster. It is believed that Rafa Benitez likes Garner and wants to bring him to Everton.

Manchester United have to terminate Garner’s loan deal with Nottingham Forest to transfer him to Everton. The Red Devils have quantity in the midfield; however, Ralf Rangnick’s squad lacks the quality in the vital area. Paul Pogba has been the flag bearer of the United midfield for the past few years.

The arrival of Bruno Fernandes has reduced the burden off the World cup winner. However, in recent matches, the midfield deficiencies have become evident.

Pogba has remained sidelined for an extended period. Therefore, the German manager has pushed to use Fred and Scott McTominay in the central area. Even though the Red Devils duo has performed well this season, they haven’t been able to dominate the area against top clubs.

In Rangnick’s high pressing football, midfielders have to take charge of the game and win micro battles in the pivotal space. Even though James Garner is not yet ready to take up such a role, the 20-year-old has shown the spark of becoming a future star. Before the loan move, the English star made seven appearances for the senior side.
