Transfer news: Fabrizio Romano claims Birmingham City are leading the race to sign Amad Diallo from Manchester United in January
According to transfer news from Fabrizio Romano, Birmingham City are leading the race to sign Manchester United ace Amad Diallo on a loan move in January.
The winger joined the club nearly a year ago from Atalanta and had huge potential. He made a telling difference in our Europa League campaign before impressing with the U-23s. The additions of Jadon Sancho and Cristiano Ronaldo were going to make it hard for him to gain first-team action, and it was decided that he would leave on a loan deal in the summer.
Feyenoord were expected to sign him, but an injury ruled out any potential move. The youngster has since recovered and made an appearance in the 1-1 draw against BSC Young Boys last month. But the Red Devils are prepared to let him leave on loan in January.
Birmingham City are currently leading the race to sign, although there are four other clubs also keen on his signature. The Championship club is near the relegation zone and could use a mid-season addition like Diallo to avoid going down.

No buy option for Tuanzebe but Napoli will have priority in the summer.
The Ivorian international has performed well with the U-23s but needs first-team action soon. Although getting consistent minutes at a Premier League club would be preferable, a Championship side is just as good.
Playing through the nitty-gritty of the second tier of English football could toughen the young lad for action in the top flight. A club higher up in the Championship might also have boded well, but Diallo could now act as the hero for the St. Andrew’s outfit if they manage to sign him this month.
The 19-year-old is an exciting talent and could have a huge future at Old Trafford. Jesse Lingard and Edinson Cavani could be leaving once their contracts expire this summer. Anthony Martial has already requested a move, while Cristiano Ronaldo is eventually going to leave at some point given his age.

Unless the Old Trafford outfit makes any additions to their squad, the former Atalanta star could be the next kid on the block to make it big. But before doing so, he needs to get some first-team minutes under the belt and develop into the world-beater that convinces us of his potential.
Hopefully, for the sake of the young African starlet, this deal goes through. Being one of the main men at Birmingham City, or any other club that he may sign for in January, could really see him come into his own without the pressure of donning the Red Devils shirt just yet.
