Paul Pogba denies rumours that Manchester United have made him a lucrative new contract offer
According to Daily Mail Online, Paul Pogba has denied rumours of a new contract offer from Manchester United, which would have made him the highest-paid player in the Premier League. He has released a statement on the matter through a spokesperson who acted on his behalf.
The Frenchman’s contract with Man United will expire at the end of the current campaign. He could legally reach a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs this month, which has led to uncertainty over his future at Old Trafford. He has gathered interest from Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid and Juventus as they try to take advantage of this situation.
Supposedly the Frenchman was offered a £500,000-per-week deal to try and keep him at Old Trafford beyond next summer. However, he has dismissed those claims while stating that his entire focus is to recover from the injury and help the team achieve their objectives for the season.
“To clarify media reports, Paul has not been offered a new contract in recent months. Paul is fully focused on his recovery from injury with the aim of helping the team as soon as possible.”
What next for Pogba?
In an ideal scenario, we would want the 28-year-old to pledge his future with us and put an end to all these talks of an impending exit. That would have enabled us to fully focus on the sporting side and also build upon the harmony and cohesion in the squad. However, his possible departure has forced us to look for replacements should the situation forces our hand.
If the new offer had been true, that would have painted the World Cup winner in a bad light as it would seem like he was holding out for a large contract. But he has quickly addressed the issue and prevented any negativity from creeping into the team. But we would prefer him not to create opportunities for such problems by renewing his current deal.

Over the past few days, it seems like there have been many cases like this that is “targeting” us to cause unrest within the team or among the fans. Earlier, Fred lashed out on Twitter at the news that claimed that he and a chunk of the squad were fed up with life and was looking to leave the cub.
We fans have to be wary of these things as it seems like the media are trying to feed the negativity following the loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers. We must not entertain them moving forward as there is clearly a pattern surrounding the type of news and its objectives.
