Jorge Mendes provides reassuring update about Manchester United ace Cristiano Ronaldo amidst exit links
Speaking to Sky Sports in Italy, as quoted by The Sun, Jorge Mendes has revealed that Cristiano Ronaldo is very happy in Manchester United amidst being linked with an exit.
The Portuguese international completed a sublime return to Old Trafford in the summer. His arrival was well-received by Man United fans but things have not been perfect at the Theatre of Dreams. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been sacked, and there were doubts about Ralf Rangnick following the 1-1 draw against Newcastle United on Monday night.
Ronaldo cut a frustrated figure for most of the game. This was followed up by a Spanish newspaper ‘jokingly’ claiming that the Real Madrid legend could join Barcelona or even return to the Santiago Bernabeu. However, the player hit back at all these claims by scoring against Burnley on Thursday night as he led the line brilliantly.

His agent, Jorge Mendes, has now hinted that the player shall stay at Old Trafford this season by stating that the 36-year-old is very happy.
“Cristiano Ronaldo is very happy at Manchester United. He is going to continue with his solid, great performances as always in his career. It is going [to] be a great season for him, I am sure.”
Never a doubt
This is not the first time the 5-time Ballon d’Or winner is facing a tough challenge. Man United may have stuttered for the first half of the campaign, but the Portuguese international holds the tools to turn things around in the second half of the season.
Moreover, alongside an astute manager like Ralf Rangnick, Man United could go far in the Champions League. The centre-forward has already banged in 14 goals in 21 appearances this season, including a couple of last-minute equalizers and winners in the UCL.

He has always aspired to be the best, and he clearly returned to Old Trafford to continue playing at a top level. It may not be our glory days, but those are not far away either. The club is building steadily and investing in young stars and world-beaters. The appointment of a permanent manager next season could also increase our chances of competing for the league title again.

Ronaldo has never backed down from adversity and has always hit back at his critics. He may be cutting a frustrated figure recently, but that is down to his ambitions of always being the best player on the pitch whenever he steps onto one. He was smiling after the Burnley game and it looks like our talisman will be staying with us for now.
At 36, it’s not like he has a lot of footballing years ahead of him- even though he has barely shown any signs of slowing down. But until he is contracted at Old Trafford, we should count ourselves lucky to be witnessing one of the greatest players in football history donning our shirt once again.
