Manchester United striker Edinson Cavani has rejected offers from Boca Juniors
According to TyC Sports, Manchester United striker Edinson Cavani has rejected the recent contact offer made by Boca Juniors as the Uruguayan is determined to join Barcelona.
The striker did impressive work for the Red Devils in the last season. The 34-year-old forward scored 17 goals in 39 appearances across all competition and helped Man United end the season in the top four in the Premier League. Despite battling with increasing age, the former Paris Saint Germain forward showed an incredible work rate and determination.
However, the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo has changed the scenario for the Uruguayan. Former manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær couldn’t find any way to play both the veteran strikers in the same starting line-up. Thus, Cavani fell from the pecking order and lost his spot to the Portuguese superstar. Even the arrival of Ralf Rangnick hasn’t improved his game time.
The Uruguayan star’s present contract will end next summer. But, looking at this lack of game time, it seems he is not included in Man United manager’s future plans.
It is believed that Boca Juniors recently offered him the chance to return to South America, but he has made his intention clear to the Brazilian team. It seems the former PSG star is determined to make a move to Barcelona to replace the retired Sergio Aguero.
Ronaldo, no doubt, has been one of the best players this season for United. The Portuguese has scored many game-winning goals this season to put United in a comfortable place. He is still the top score of the team this season, and the new manager Ralf Rangnick seems to be favouring him to start every game.

Ronaldo’s scintillating form decreased the chance of Cavani to feature. But the Uruguayan has been a top forward throughout his career and has shown incredible performances in several leagues. If the United coaching hierarchy could have found a solution to play both the veterans in the same team, they could have made an excellent pairing.
