Team News: Boost for Manchester United as four key players return to training following injury setbacks
According to Manchester Evening News, Manchester United have been handed a major fitness boost ahead of their UEFA Champions League groups stage finale against Young Boys.
The Red Devils have little to play for after already having garnered their progress into the next round. Ralf Rangnick can ring in the changes and ensure that those players on the fringes can give themselves a chance to show their abilities.
The German will also be happy to know that four Red Devils stars, who were recovering from injury are now back in training. This includes Raphael Varane, Edinson Cavani, Luke Shaw, and Jesse Lingard.
Of the quarter, it is Varane who is the most decorated and also most crucial. The Frenchman had been sidelined for the last five weeks with a hamstring injury and he was missed at Old Trafford.
Cavani has recovered from a tendon injury while Shaw too appears fine after having lost the last few games thanks to a concussion. Academy graduate Jesse Lingard is also back in training after recovering from an ankle injury.
While it is good to have your best players available, Man United will do well to not push the stars into action. Recuperation is key and it is imperative that they are in good physical condition before taking to the field.
One player who will however join the rest of the players on the sidelines is Anthony Martial. The Frenchman hurt his knee in training before the 1-0 win against Crystal Palace and is still out of action. It is fair to say that he missed a golden opportunity for playtime against Young Boys.

Man United have a busy few weeks ahead of them and have a number of games to negotiate. With squad strength key, it makes little sense for the club to rush back their top stars. Easy does it and Rangnick should ensure his players are fully fit before throwing them in at the far end.
It is important to sort out our priorities, after all. With qualification already confirmed to the UCL last 16, it’s best to focus on the Premier League now as we battle for the top 4 spots after a shaky start to the season.
