Manchester United fans react on Twitter as Ralf Rangnick’s side beats Crystal Palace 1-0

Ralf Rangnick had a great start to life in England as Manchester United won 1-0 against Crystal Palace.

The Red Devils looked confident under Michael Carrick but the real changes could be seen today. Ralf Rangnick adjusted his style of play to the squad, and our players bought into his system.

The first half an hour was perhaps the best football our side has played in the last five years. The midfield had a hold of the ball and the full-backs were pressing high, with Cristiano Ronaldo joining the party with his classy flicks in and around the box. The standout player was Diogo Dalot though, as he was running the play down the right-hand side.

3 points to start with for Rangnick

However, Man United did not have anything to show for despite a ton of chances. Crystal Palace got some control of the game at the start of the second half but were lacklustre in the final third. Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof had very little to cope with for the first hour of the game.

Rangnick amped up the pressure after 60 minutes, as he brought on Mason Greenwood for Jadon Sancho. The Englishman was fast and direct but could not find his shooting boots. However, he found himself in a tight space in the penalty box 15 minutes from time.

There was no way to wriggle through the Palace backline, courtesy of which he passed it to Fred. The Brazilian had one thing on his mind and that was to curve the ball with his weak foot into the far corner. He executed it brilliantly and ran down Stretford end to celebrate with the fans.

His mixed performance against Arsenal was tough to comprehend, but he took all the plaudits on this night. Palace mounted the pressure in the final five minutes, however, it was too late by then.

Rangnick rejoiced at the full-time whistle as he knew his side had given their all on the evening. Let us now see how some fans reacted on Twitter to the German boss picking up his first victory at home.
