According to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo (h/t BBC), The agent of Ousmane Dembele is advising his client not to sign a renewal deal with Barcelona amid interest from Manchester United.
Despite being a top young prospect, The Frenchman’s career at Barcelona hasn’t meet expectations. The constantly recurring injuries played a significant part in preventing him from stepping up his game. However, he is still young, and there is yet hope that he can go on to fulfill his immense potential.
Manchester United has been linked with the French forward in recent times. However, there was some added competition from Newcastle United. However, a renewal deal from Barcelona could change the situation completely. But it seems the world cup winner is going in the opposite direction of a renewal deal at this moment.
It is believed that the world cup winner’s agent is advising him against commiting his future to the Catalan giants. This could prove to be a massive boost for the Red Devils in their pursuit.
Whiloe Man United may appear to have strength in depth in attack, it does warant clsoer inspection. Cristiiano Ronaldo isn’t getting younger while Jesse Lingard and Edinson Cavani could be on the move next summer. Anthony Martial remains woefully inconsistent and Jadon Sancho is still finding his way.
Possessing both pace and technique, Dembele has shown excellent match awareness when on form. As long as his injuries are behind him, he could turn into an excellent match winner for Man United.
