Transfer News: Manchester United are not ready to present any offer for Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic in January
According to Daily Mail, the high valuation of Dusan Vlahovic by Fiorentina could prevent Manchester United from making any move for the forward in January.
Dusan Vlahovic has been one of the most consistent goalscoring forwards this season. His goalscoring tally stands at 11 goals in 14 Serie A games after scoring in Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Empoli. His staggering run has attracted many elite clubs around the world.
It is believed that, along with Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, and Juventus are all keeping the tab on the situation.
Fiorentina have made several attempts to convince the Serbian striker to continue his career at the Italian club. But to no avail, he has rejected any chance for a renewal deal.
However, the Italian club is aware of the growing interest around Vlahovic and are looking to capitalize on the moment to acquire a lucrative price. La Viola has valued the player at £55m for any mid-season deal in the coming January transfer window.
After purchasing some big stars last summer, Manchester United might not be in the best possible position to agree to such a deal at this moment. As the 21-year-old player’s contract will end in 2023, the I Gigliati would still hold the upper hand in the negotiation.
In such a case, it is believed that the Red Devils are planning to wait until the summer transfer window in the hope that Fiorentina would feel added pressure at that time due to the closing contract end.
Manchester United currently have two of the most lethal strikers in the modern generation. But both are over 34 years old age and can’t give a sustainable performance for many seasons. The Red Devils possess young players also. Players like Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho would be viable options for the future. But currently, they are not in the position to take over the leading goal-scoring role.

Vlahovic has shown a consistent scoring run that shows his hunger, determination and conversion rate. He could help United regain form in the current season as well as his consistency could make him a star future player. By bringing the Serbian player, United would add much-needed firepower to our forward lineup.
