According to El Nacional (h/t Manchester Evening News), Manchester United are putting together a bid for Brazilian star Vinicius Junior.

The 21-year-old moved to Santiago Bernabeu from the Brazilian side Flamengo in 2018. While he took some time to get used to life in the Spanish capital, Vinicius has continued to go from strength to strength. Long considered one of the finest young talents in the game, he is finally living up to that appraisal.

Vinicius has become a dependable asset for the Spanish giants recently. He has already scored 10 goals and provided seven assists in 18 matches across all competitions this season for Real Madrid. The Brazilian youngster has repaid Carlo Ancelotti’s faith in and continues to assert himself as a key member of the Los Blancos side that is currently being rebuilt.

Stating that the Red Devils are going through a tough spell at the moment would be an understatement. A string of humiliating losses meant that the Old Trafford outfit sacked Norwegian manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaerand are closing in on appointing Ralf Ragnick as the interim manager.

The Theatre of Dreams has become a sordid place for fans of late. The defence seems to be leaking goals at a nerve-wracking pace whereas they have also found it especially difficult to open up bigger oppositions this season. Defeats to major rivals like Manchester City and Liverpool were a bitter pill to swallow but being outplayed by a club like Watford was even worse.

The Manchester-based club has managed to bring a list of world-class players to Old Trafford in the last few years. Despite the heavy investment into creating a better squad, they haven’t managed to replicate the glorious days under the tutelage of Sir Alex Ferguson. The Red Devils brought in a plethora of exciting attackers in the latest transfer window but could be looking to further supplement the frontline with Vinicius.

Vinicius Jr is having an impressive season for Real Madrid so far

With Cristiano Ronaldo in his late 30s and Edinson Cavani being linked with a move away from the club, United could be looking for a young forward to help future proof the attacking department. The Old Trafford outfit does possess some great young attackers like Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford, not to mention the recently acquired Jadon Sancho. Vinicius will not just add much quality but also great depth to what will be a young and exciting frontline.

Hopefully, Rangick will come in and go on to implement tactics that can get the best out of his young stars. Bringing success back to the Old Trafford club will surely make it a dream destination for the best players.

It would be fair to say that it is highly unlikely that Vinicius Junior would make his way to Manchester United at the moment. He is enjoying a great time at the Santiago Bernabeu and has already asserted himself in their first team set up at such a young age.

The Brazilian appears to be one of the lynchpins of the Real Madrid rebuild. There is little reason for him to swap that for a similar situation at Man United.
