Ole Gunnar Solskjaer failed to lead Manchester United back to their perch
According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United have decided to part ways with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with Glazer approving the decision. Fletcher-Carrick could take over on an interim basis if a permanent solution isn’t found soon enough.
The Red Devils have struggled to maintain their consistency this season would be an understatement of their recent woes. They have struggled to break down bigger opponents and have leaked goals at the same time. The Norwegian manager has had to bear the brunt of these poor performances in recent times
The former Molde FK manager took over from Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford but has failed to deliver any piece of silverware with the club as manager. A humiliating defeat to Watford yesterday means that it could only be a matter of time before Ole is shown the door at Old Trafford.
High-profile names such as Mauricio Pochettino, Zinedine Zidane, Brendan Rodgers, and Erik ten Hag have been linked as the replacement to the 48-year-old manager in recent times. The Red Devils have only managed to achieve a single victory in their last seven Premier League games which highlights the current problems at the Manchester-based club.
A late red for Harry Maguire at Vicarage Road Stadium just went on to show the lack of discipline and composure in this squad. David De Gea even admitted post-match that his team “don’t know what to do with the ball” which has shed light on the kind of inadeptness that Man Utd have been showcasing at the moment.
Ole hasn’t managed to make any substantial progress with the club despite some big-name reinforcements like Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho, and Raphael Varane in the last transfer window. It is believed that the Norwegian manager has already been sacked and it is only a matter of time before the official statement is released.
Manchester United have showcased some glaring issues this season, much of those being on display again in our 4-1 loss to Watford this weekend. The supporters would be hoping that the club can bring in someone with the tactical finesse and experience to get the best out of this group of players. There is still a long way to go in the season and the Red Devils will hopefully be able to pull up their socks and start firing on all cylinders again.
