Robert Lewandowski ‘open to Premier League move’ amidst Manchester United interest
According to The Athletic (h/t Sports mole), Manchester United target Robert Lewandowski asked several questions to Poland teammate Matty Cash about the Premier League during the recent international break.
The Polish ace is one of the most lethal goalscorers of this generation and has helped Bayern Munich win several trophies. The 33-year-old has scored 317 goals and registered 67 assists in 346 appearances for the Bavarian giants since 2014.
Lewandowski was the frontrunner for last year’s Ballon d’Or race following his incredible achievements with Die Roten in the 2019/20 season. He was deprived of the individual award as the Ballon d’Or was controversially cancelled last year. However, his consistency has once again made him a frontrunner for this season’s gong.
ManUnited have been keen on luring the player who has shown interest in leaving Bayern for a fresh challenge. But now, the Red Devils would be more interested after hearing his interest in the English top flight.
The former Dortmund player was with the Poland squad during the international break. It seems he ‘quizzed’ Aston Villa defender Matty Cash about the Premier League.
Manchester United currently hold two decorated strikers in world football. Cristiano Ronaldo and Edinson Cavani’s experience has proven to ve clinical for the Red Devils in crunch situations. But still, their age remains a cause for concern as they will at best be short term options upfront.
By signing such a world-class player, the Red Devils board can project a sign of aggressive intent and authority. The Polish player has excellent physicality and game awareness and adding them to his top-flight experience; it wouldn’t be problematic for him to adapt to the Premier League scenario.

But United are not the only Premier League team in the race. It seems Chelsea, Manchester City, and Liverpool are all interested in the player. In any case, if the player decides to leave Allianz Arena, it won’t be an easy sweep for any other team because of the high competition involved.
