Zinedine Zidane ready to join Manchester United but dancer wife Veronique could disapprove
According to the Daily Record (h/t The Sun), Zinedine Zidane is ‘attracted’ to the Manchester United job, but his dancer wife, Veronique, is opposed to the move.
The French boss had an incredibly successful playing career. However, few knew about his tactical acumen in the dugout. After all, this is somebody who headbutted an opposition player in a World Cup final.
But the 49-year-old displayed his man-management skills by helping Real Madrid win three successive Champions League trophies. In fact, the player-turned manager also managed to win a La Liga title after Cristiano Ronaldo left Santiago Bernabeu.
Zidane left Los Blancos this summer and is currently out of work. Man United are looking to appoint him if they finally decide to sack Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The Norwegian has not been able to lead the club to glory, and this season looks no different.
Moreover, the Red Devils already possess some of the French manager’s former disciples in Raphael Varane and Cristiano Ronaldo. Zidane also tried to sign Paul Pogba during his tenure at the Spanish capital.
This appointment could also take place soon as the former French international is open to joining United. However, his wife, Veronique, is not keen on living in Manchester and feels her husband could take a longer break.
This is a massive setback for the Red Devils as the Frenchman is also ready to evaluate his future next summer, according to a Tweet put by BILD journalist, Christian Falk (h/t The Sun).

Regardless, there are other options to consider as potential replacements for the hot seat at Old Trafford. Brendan Rodgers remains a target, but his previous ties to Liverpool could be a problem. Nevertheless, the United board would need to sack Solskjaer before making a formal offer to appoint his replacement.
