Rio Ferdinand believes ‘it’s time’ Ole Gunnar Solskjaer leaves Manchester United
Speaking on his podcast ‘FIVE’ (h/t The Sun), Rio Ferdinand has claimed that it’s time that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer leaves Manchester United amidst a disastrous run of results.
The Red Devils slumped to yet another defeat on the weekend and are now 6th on the Premier League table, below the likes of Arsenal and West Ham, not to mention the title-chasing pack of Man City, Liverpool, and Liverpool.
Liverpool delivered a thrashing to the Old Trafford outfit a couple of weeks, and Man City played them off the park on Saturday. That is two defeats to two of our fiercest rivals, and this level of mediocrity cannot be justified, especially after the kind of players we signed in the summer.
Club legend Rio Ferdinand has now had his say on the topic and believes his former United compatriot needs to leave the club as they are never going to win titles with him.
“Now might be the time for that baton to be handed over to somebody else who can take us on. Ole would leave now with his head held high. From when he came into where he got us, at the beginning of this season, has been positive.
“But is he going to take us to titles and win the Champions League? I have to be honest with myself, and I don’t think so, no…Deep down, I was always a bit sceptical he could take us on and be champions…This is now his squad. He has had big money to spend, but it is not working.”

There is still time to change the results, especially since league leaders Chelsea are only 9 points away. Moreover, our hopes of qualifying for the knockout stages of the Champions League are still intact. However, they could be ruined if Villarreal win in the game after the international break.
The Glazers and the board have a lot to ponder over, and perhaps if the people who were backing him initially have also turned against him, it might be the end of the road for Solskjaer.
